Trying New Things

Writing/reading has always been something I like to do and the more I see all the different styles the more interesting it becomes for me. I've always liked past-tense style stories and third person and recently I've found out how much I dislike present-first-person (it's just a little strange, you know?). As far as writing goes I've always done past tense-first person (the usual style) and only in mid-August did I start trying third person.

Trying a different style was a real eye-opener because I saw how much fun third-person was to write! You can get a lot more descriptive and word things differently then you could sticking with one person. I'm planning on messing around with it more and seeing if I can write some complete stories in that fashion, which would be awesome! I think trying a new style really refreshed my creativity and inspiration! --But at the same time it made me really insecure about all the other stuff I'd written because they all seemed badly done. I'm still kinda feeling like that but maybe writing something new would rub some good vibes on me!

Really though, I highly doubt I'll get any of my ideas out without flipping a few tables. I guess that's just the process sometimes! Plus, I have a feeling I'll get side-tracked and write some sort of comedy/fluff with my different characters in-between for fun. Writing apocalyptic adventure/horror can really bring down your mood.

Maybe in the future I'll include some snippets and bits of writing in these blog posts, who knows! It all depends on what happens. Since Fall Break is next week maybe I'll sit down and do some stuff! That way I'd be doing it for fun and not to procrastinate homework (lol). Oh! Maybe horror? That would work with Halloween!

On another note-- I just check my view counter and apparently this blog has 2,000+ views! That's amazing! Thanks to everyone who's visited!  but seriously, it's probably because of the anime pictures.

Well, I think that's all I had to say! Sorry for another short post but my brain is going derp at the moment and the topic is over. I don't know why, but I have a feeling I'll either delete this later or redo it. Oh well! Thanks for reading,

Laura.
